This client wanted a backyard where they could entertain family and friends.
They asked us to incorporate a pool, patio, lawn area and a fire pit all in a sloping backyard. Each of these components needed to have a subtle separation but not so dramatic as to create disconnect when entertaining.
Elevation change was a critical component to the design. What began as a constraint is now considered the most compelling element of the backyard. Steps and landings visually encourage people to move throughout. Stone walls shape the outdoor spaces, create planting areas, and provide additional seating when groups gather.
